Brief:

The Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund awarded ETHOS a contract to develop training designed to assist employers in hiring and supporting individuals with disabilities. This web-based resource aimed to provide engaging training and tools for employers and job seekers, and actively promote inclusive hiring practices. 

Learning Solution:

We developed an online training platform offering four independent courses that guided employers through inclusive hiring and workplace practices. Upon completing the courses, employers could achieve certification as Inclusive Employers. Courses included topics such as understanding disabilities, inclusive recruitment, workplace accommodation, and peer mentorship. The platform also provided resources for job seekers. The learning materials were reviewed by disability experts from McMaster University and were highly praised for their impact.

Brief:

The YWCA Vancouver required an online version of their Employer Guide for Skills for Success in the Manufacturing Workplace. This resource raises employer awareness of workforce needs, emphasizes the importance of developing employees’ Skills for Success, and highlights the benefits of hiring racialized individuals and fostering an inclusive workplace.

Learning Solution:

We developed an interactive workbook with assessments, graphics, and research, along with content writing and editing, all in an easy-to-use format for employers. We chose to develop the workbook in H5P for seamless portability to the already established YWCA website.

Brief:

Emergency TIPS (ETIPS) partnered with ETHOS to find a web-based solution to enable organizations to create and manage customized Emergency Management Plans (EMPs). The platform would offer fully customizable EMP templates tailored to each client’s unique requirements, incorporating contextual learning that directly aligns with their specific plans.

The platform allows for seamless tailoring of plans to align with each client’s specific requirements. Brief:

InsideETHOS is an internal social learning platform developed to support the onboarding process and HR-related documentation for ETHOS employees. The platform serves as a hub for staff communication, resource access, and training.

Learning Solution:

We created a dynamic platform featuring social sharing tools, including a newsfeed for employee posts, groups for interest-based discussions, and a monthly internal newsletter showcasing program activities. Employees have access to interactive forms for tasks like leave requests, reimbursements, and personal learning plans. The platform also includes leadership and role-specific training, such as IT platform usage. InsideETHOS functions as a centralized space where staff can connect, share news, and access key HR policies and procedures.

Food Banks BC

Brief:

Food Banks BC required an eLearning solution to train employees and volunteers on implementing their emergency preparedness plan (EMP). The objective was to convert a paper-based EMP into an online training program that could be accessed by all member food banks across British Columbia.

Learning Solution:

We developed an online LMS that transformed the EMP into a dynamic training experience. The solution included printable and fillable PDFs of EMP documents, video instruction, and infographics. We also provided tabletop exercises and practical scenarios for hands-on practice, along with a narrated version of the EMP. A centralized, user-friendly hub was created to house all their documents, ensuring easy access and organization.

Brief:

The Government of Canada awarded ETHOS a contract to develop training focused on the nine essential skills crucial for today’s employers and necessary for work, learning, and life. The objective was to create an engaging platform that fosters active learning and skill development.

Learning Solution:

We developed a gamified training program called Skills Quest for Success, where participants earn experience points and achievement badges. The training content is presented in a visually engaging format that enhances comprehension, supplemented with resources, videos, and readings. Learners received support from staff who review quest submissions and provide online assistance. In addition to the nine core Skills for Success quests, we created 15 supplementary courses and projects focused on Employment Skills, Workplace Skills, and Personal Development.

The Ontario Foodbanks organization needed an eLearning solution to train both employees and volunteers on deploying their emergency preparedness plan (EMP). Brief:

The Government of Canada, through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement, awarded ETHOS a contract to develop an employment training and job development program for individuals with disabilities aged 55 and over. This program aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to overcome employment barriers and find sustainable employment. The objective was to build an easy-to-use online portion of the program with relevant content and facilitator guides.  

Learning Solution:

We developed a comprehensive learning platform beginning with a 4-week foundational course, after which participants can choose to focus on further employment skills or pursue self-employment. The training is delivered through a blend of group sessions, one-on-one coaching, and independent study, offering a flexible and supportive learning environment. A dedicated Success Team provides ongoing support to help participants reach their goals, ensuring they are fully equipped to navigate the job market or launch their own business.
