sustainable. With our head office located in Nanaimo, we offer a range of employment services,
digital learning programs and operate WorkBC centres in Duncan and Ladysmith. We are currently
recruiting for the position of Program Coordinator/Job Coach for our Island Ops Program. This is a fulltime position, Monday to Friday, based in our head office in Nanaimo.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Program Coordinator/Job Coach manages the dayto-day activities of the Island Ops Program while working with program clients to assist them with
finding and keeping employment. As the Program Coordinator, you will provide program leadership,
managing client intakes, database management and program deliverables. You will ensure quality
delivery of services and client outcomes. As the Job Coach, you will work one-on-one with clients to
assess client employment readiness, identify potential barriers to employment and guide clients in
identifying appropriate employment opportunities and related training that may help them achieve
their employment goals. In order to assist clients in finding suitable employment, you will also build
working relationships with local employers.
This Program Coordinator/Job Coach will work online with clients the majority of the time. You will
also be required to travel occasionally to meet with clients, employers, support clients on the job site,
monitor work experience placement and provide follow-up support services.

Qualifications and required skills:

Post-secondary education in a relevant field including Career Development, Human Services,
Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Business Administration, Vocational Rehab
• Career Practitioner Certification preferred
• 2-3 years’ experience working in case management or employment counselling; preference will be
given to candidates who have worked with persons with disabilities or multiple barriers.
• Have a strong working knowledge and in-depth understanding of employment services
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Experience managing employment program delivery preferred
• Industry-recognized certification appropriate to Specialized Assessments preferred
• Must be able to pass Criminal Record Check for Vulnerable Sector
